The site of Paul Revere’s famous “one if by land, two if by sea” lanterns is a vibrant, active historic site. Amplifier has had the good fortune to work with the site on two distinct projects.
Old North Church is both and active Episcopal congregation and a national historic landmark made famous by its role at the start of the Revolutionary War. It represents heroism and defiance. As a church financed in those early years by the slave trade, it also represents the contradictions of America’s ideals.
Old North wanted all of those stories told and brought Amplifier on board to make them real. An update to the free-roaming tour panels in the congregation’s space won a Leadership in History Award. An art-based exhibit just outside the existing tour route will bring the site’s story to the present and encourage visitors to take action themselves.
